In this course, you will learn the differences between child safeguarding and child protection, key information about abuse and neglect, and how to protect children and yourself from potential risks.   • Course overview featuring key learning objectives and safeguarding specific terminology.

  • Learn the differences between child safeguarding and child protection, as well as who is responsible for safeguarding within your organisation.

  • Discover the four types of child maltreatment, the main warning signs, and the effects that maltreatment can have on children.

  • Work through a real-life case and determine how this tragedy could have been avoided by examining the series of events and failures that led up to it.

  • Learn the importance of following policies and procedures, as well as how to establish professional behaviour and positive relationships with all members of the school community. This module also covers health and safety.

  • Understand the three circumstances in which a concern may arise, how to respond to a discovery or disclosure, and what information you'll need to support a report.

  • Understand how to respond appropriately to a concern using Indonesian regional reporting regulations. Learn how to report in good faith and what we mean by whistleblowing.

  • In this assessment, you will be faced with four child maltreatment concerns. Using your knowledge of what signs to look out for and safeguarding good practices, navigate through the TeachUp Campus to successfully complete the assessment.
